This Website is dedicated to those in my life who have passed on, especially my beautiful, fun loving, favorite Red Sox Buddy, Mom, Bernice Person Abbott (4/8/2011), My Sister-in-Law, Nichole Person, as well as many others......
Mom, words cannot even explain how much you are missed! Everytime my phone rings, I expect it to be you on the other end! Going to Red Sox games are not the same without you! But your name will live on at Fenway Park forever! Your thirteen children, twenty-one grandchildren, and your seven great-grand children have found a way to keep your memory alive at Fenway Park! You will have a brick dedicated to you, with your name on it, from all of us, on the wall of Fenway Park for its 100th Anniversary! We love you Mom, and we so miss you! Keep our Sox Boys winning, will ya! Hold onto that Fenway Park dirt that I left with you!
In Loving Memory of my Beloved Sister-In-Law, Nichole Person, who left us on June 3, 2007. Nichole, may your smile always shine upon everyone that you touched and loved! We all promise you that we will take care of Mike, and your children for you, especially Maria. Thank you for giving our brother, and brother-in-law, Johnny, your beautiful rainbow while he was in Kosovo during your funeral. We all told him that this was your way of telling him that it was O.K. to say goodbye to you from Kosovo, while the rest of us were there with you, and that this was your way of letting him know how proud you are of him for serving our Country. You will truly be missed. All of our love, Carol, Ron, Nick, Augie, Smokey, your Mom, Sister, Brother, Cousins, Brothers and Sister-in-Laws, Friends, Sister Mary Lou Cassidy, your friends from Saint Patrick's Parish in Stoneham, and everyone that you loved. May you rest in peace and continue smiling upon all of us -- as you always have. Our sincerest love to you. -- P.S.: You would be so proud of Mike and the Kids. They are so strong, and it is all because of you.
I married Rosa and Patrick at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston. They had planned on getting married in the future however, unexpectedly, Patrick became very ill in November. As a result, he shared his wish to be married to Rosa before Christmas day 2010. Patrick's wish came true on 12/23/2010, and it was the best gift that I could have ever given to anyone! It was an emotional ceremony, but the fact that Rosa and Patrick's families, and his very caring nurses took part on his wedding day, made it all the more special for him.
I can't praise the nurses enough at Beth Israel! They decorated a room for the ceremony, which included a wedding cake and food. It was so clear to me that these nurses were incredibly caring individuals, to a point where many had tears in their eyes.
Sadly, Patrick passed away on 1/12/2011. Patrick taught me a whole new meaning of giving to someone that did not involve material things or monetary attachments. Not only did I give him his wish, but he gave me a gift that day as well. Patrick, I will miss you!
The one ceremony that I will always hold dear to my heart, is the ceremony of Serge and Nicole Carrier. The Carrier's were united as a couple on December 29, 2007 at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston. The couple, who have been together for ten years, got engaged in the Fall of 2007, and set their wedding date for December 29th. Two weeks later, Serge suffered a severe heart attack on the day that his future bride, Nicole, went out with her sister to pick up her wedding dress. Upon arriving home, Nicole found Serge gravely ill. Once at the hospital, they learned that Serge had been stricken with a heart attack and stroke beyond repair. While Serge is able to speak, he is paralyzed on one side and partially paralyzed on the other side, and is being kept alive with an artificial heart, while he waits, and prays, for a heart transplant.
However, this did not stop Serge from wanting his wish for a December 29th wedding. Nicole and Serge were determined to go forward with their plan to marry, and to have their wedding in December. Doctors told Serge that he could not leave the hospital to fulfill his wish; therefore, they gave Nicole and Serge permission to bring their wedding to them, at the hospital, with their guests and all.
I was fortunate enough to be chosen as the officiant to conduct Nicole and Serge's ceremony, and I was not only honored, but I truly believe that I was given an opportunity to give a gift to two very special people. It was also a gift given to me for being asked to be the one to marry them, and to make their dream come true. Serge was determined to keep the original date that was planned for his wedding. He said that he wanted a ring on his finger in the event that he did not make it into the New Year. That was emotionally tough for me to hear. While I held up during the ceremony, I confess to getting a bit teary eyed when Nicole placed the ring on Serge's finger!
Having said that, I hope that every one who reads this Webpage will keep Nicole and Serge in your thoughts. Thank you.

BoSox Club BBQ in the Players Club at Fenway Park 9/8/2012
I was invited as a guest speaker at a BoSoxClub BBQ at FenwayPark, to talk about the weddings that I have officiated at Fenway Park, which was hosted by Jenny Dell, NESN’s Red Sox Reporter, thanks to my friend, William Grogan, Lt. Governor-Virginia Of Red Sox Nation. Thank you Stephen Hollingsworth and Bob Marotta, Board Members, and Steve Dukeman, President of the BoSox Club for this very special invitation! The event / BBQ took place inside the Players Club at Fenway Park. Jenny Dell, former Red Sox Reliever, Dick Drago (1975), Paul Epstein (Brother of Theo Epstein), were the main speakers.
It was a lovely event! I truly enjoyed myself! The best was at the end, when I sat at the table with the BoSox Board Members and Mr. Drago. It was so nice to hear his perspective on what it was like when he was with the Red Sox (1975), and how the team was a team, vs. Now. The Red Sox used to go out to dinner and drinks with the media, and never was it posted all over the news. The media respected the players.
Thank you all again from the bottom of my heart! It was fun talking about my experiences about marrying people at Fenway Park! And Dan Rea, Coordinator, Club History and Alumni Relations, don’t forget me! I was serious darn it! I want a job in the front office!

Talk about a waste of seats!!! I was so mad! My hubby had to hold me back from asking them why they were even at the game!
BELOW: Andrea and Staff in the Pavilion Club: She goes out of her way for everyone to make sure that they feel comfortable at every game. Thanks Andrea for taking care of my Mom! She adored you!
BELOW: MOM MEETS HER IDOL! #14 ~ JIM RICE!My Mom fullfilled her dream of a lifetime this past Saturday, April 4, 2009, by meeting her hero, newly inducted Major League Baseball Hall of Famer, and former Boston Red Sox Legend, Jim Rice. Not only was she given the honor of spending time with Rice, but she also spent some time with former Red Sox Legends, Dwight Evans and Fred Lynn, at the Sturbridge Host Hotel in Sturbridge.
Rice is known for his 382 career home runs, being named the MVP in 1978, and most recently, for his becoming a Hall of Famer. But as an avid Red Sox fan,who attends games often and played baseball herself, known for her switch hitting, Mom's favorite memory of Rice is all of the above, but more importantly for his heroism.
In August of 1982, a 4-year-old boy from New Hampshire, was watching the game from the second row on the first base line, when Red Sox first baseman, Dave Stapleton, hit a foul ball, striking the young boy in the temple. Rice ran from the dugout, picked up the bleeding boy, and raced him to an ambulance outside of Fenway Park, saving the boys life from a skull fracture.
Our family had learned that an event would be held for Rice and other past Red Sox Legends, at the Kowloon in Saugus, MA on Tuesday, April 7, 2009. Learning about this, my family contacted the organizer of this event to explain Mom's wish to meet Rice. Not only was it arranged for her to meet her hero, but she was also to be escorted on stage by former Legend, Johnny Pesky, and presented to Rice as his "Ultimate Jim Rice Fan". Unfortunately, at the last minute, this event was canceled due to a scheduling conflict.
However, we soon learned that Mom's dream of meeting Rice would still take place, as it was quickly arranged for her to meet him at a private signing event that was being held at Sturbridge Host Hotel in Sturbridge.
Mr. Rice is a perfect gentleman. He treated my Mom like gold! She never stopped talking about him! (Mom passed away in April of 2011).) Thank you Jim for what you did for Mom!

IMPORTANT NOTE:
All kidding aside from your knowing my whole life story, knowing that I am a HUGE Boston Red Sox fan, and meeting my family, my husband said to me "Carol, people are going to think that you are a nut when they see this web page." My answer to him was that I want couples to feel comfortable with me. I want them to know the person who is officiating over their ceremony. What you see on my website is my personality. I consider myself to be fun and a very caring person. I love what I do ~ marrying people! Too many times I have seen couples get themselves so stressed out over planning their wedding day~ and my goal is to let them know that there is no need for them to get stressed out. On your special day, your wedding coordinator, officiant, DJ, Photographer, etc. always get together before your ceremony to make sure that we are all on the same page so that you both can relax. That is what you are paying us to do. It is "our job" to make sure that your most precious day of your life goes as you planned. We, as professionals, know this and that is why we are there.
